I’ve never been accused of being a particularly sentimental guy, so it also goes to reason that I am not prone to marking events like holidays with special messages, cards, contemplative musings or wistful commentary. That said, this Memorial Day, 2010, is a special day for me, so I’m going to give it a roll for once.
Most of you know that less than a year ago I signed up for military service. Back then, I looked at this opportunity as the logical culmination of a lifelong dream which I wasn’t sure I’d ever be able to realize due to so many other pending obligations.
